A broad range of facilities are on offer for the residents of Duchesne College, including:
Library and Tutorial Rooms
The Library is available at all times and provides an ideal setting for independent study, with individual desks which overlook the University Lakes, as well as lounges and computer facilities.
Smaller study and tutorial rooms are also available, ideal for group work.
Common Areas & Dining Facilities
At all times, residents have access to fully-furnished common rooms which provide an ideal setting for socialising in groups. The common rooms contain lounges, tables, a TV (with Foxtel), a DVD Player and also a kitchenette, with a microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. Tea, coffee, milk, bread and a range of spreads are available at all times. One common room, located in the Rose Philippine building, also includes a stovetop and oven.
The College also has a large, air-conditioned Dining Hall, with a terrace overlooking the Brisbane River. An area, known as Café Duchesne, provides a covered outdoor dining area for residents. The Quadrangle provides an additional location for formal and informal social gatherings.
The College offers two music practice rooms, including a piano, which are available to all residents from 6.30am – 10.30pm every day.
Health and Wellbeing
The College has a well-equipped gym, available to all residents between 6am to 11.30pm every day.
Mission and Spirituality
The College Chapel is available at all time for residents. Mass is held in the Chapel on a fortnightly basis and all residents are welcome to attend.
The College provides complimentary laundry facilities, including clotheslines, washing machines and dryers, for use by residents.
The College offers storage for bicycles.
Car parking is also available for residents, for an additional cost. Please note, demand exceeds supply and car parking is allocated on the basis of need.
